Tainted Pet Food Cases To Go To N.J. In MDL Suit

Law360, New York (July 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has decided to consolidate and transfer 13 pet food contamination cases centering on a March 2007 recall of products by Menu Foods Inc. to the District of New Jersey.

In its transfer order, the MDL panel agreed to centralize the litigation over the products, which were allegedly tainted with the chemical melamine, since all involved “common questions of fact.”
