DOC Eyes Alleged Duty Evasion By Chinese Bolt Importer

Law360, New York (January 5, 2012, 4:56 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has opened an investigation into whether Gem-Year Industrial Co. Ltd. is importing certain double-arming bolts in an effort to dodge anti-dumping duties on steel threaded rod from China, the agency said Thursday.

Commerce has initiated an anti-circumvention inquiry over the bolts in response to a request lodged by Alabama-based threaded rod maker Vulcan Threaded Products Inc., the agency said in a notice published in the Federal Register on Thursday.
