Fla. AG Office Attys Weren't Fired Politically: Report

Law360, New York (January 6, 2012, 11:13 PM EST) -- Two lawyers from Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi’s South Florida office were fired because of unprofessional work conduct and not because of political backlash from their aggressive investigation of home foreclosure frauds, according to a report released Friday.

Theresa Edwards and June Clarkson, who were forced to resign in May, were fired soon after attorneys from companies they were investigating, including Jacksonville, Fla.-based Lender Processing Services, complained to the attorney general’s new administration that took over in January 2011, according to the report released by the...
