Aredia Product-Liability Plaintiffs Amend Complaints

Law360, New York (July 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The two groups of plaintiffs suing Novartis Corp. over the company's bone cancer drugs Aredia and Zometa filed new complaints Tuesday.

So-called Group A, a set of 13 plaintiffs, filed its fifth amended complaint. These plaintiffs are seeking personal injury as well as punitive damages from Novartis.

So-called Group B, a putative class represented by three lead plaintiffs, filed a master class action complaint. The class is seeking not personal injury damages but rather a court-supervised, Novartis-funded Dental Monitoring Program, as well as compensatory and punitive...
