Judge Declines to Dismiss Rambus Suit Vs. Infineon

Law360, New York (February 8, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has refused to dismiss a patent-infringement lawsuit filed by chip designer Rambus Inc. against German rival Infineon Technologies.

U.S. District Judge Robert Payne in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia declined to grant Infineon's motion to dismiss the case, but ordered a Feb. 22 hearing about Rambus' document retention policy. The trial had originally been scheduled to begin that day.

“There remain genuine issues of material facts that must be resolved,” Payne said in his order issued Monday....
