OPIC Invests $50M In Ukrainian PE Buyout Fund

Law360, New York (January 11, 2012, 4:37 PM EST) -- The Overseas Private Investment Corp., the U.S. government's development funding body, has pledged $50 million to Texas-based private equity firm SigmaBleyzer LLC's Ukrainian buyout fund to support the development of the country's private sector, the parties said Wednesday.

SigmaBleyzer, a Houston-based firm that directs its investments at the entertainment, communications, industrial and energy industries adjusting to free market economies, created Southeast European Fund IV in 2005 to focus on Ukraine, Albania, Croatia and other countries in the region.
