Microsoft Licenses Patents To LG For Android Devices

Law360, New York (January 12, 2012, 1:54 PM EST) -- Microsoft Corp. has signed an agreement that gives LG Electronics broad coverage under Microsoft’s patent portfolio for LG hardware running Google Inc.’s Android or Chrome OS platforms, Microsoft said Thursday.

The agreement is intended to cover South Korea-based LG’s array of tablets, cellphones and other consumer devices, Microsoft said in a statement.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
