AB InBev Buys Itself A Budweiser Mark

Law360, New York (January 12, 2012, 5:42 PM EST) -- Anheuser-Busch InBev NV said Thursday that it had purchased the rights for a Czech brewer’s “Budweiser" trademarks, settling the companies' dispute over the rights to the well-known beer brand name.

AB InBev acquired Czech brewery Budejovicky Mestansky Pivovar's trademark rights for the "Budweiser" name for an undisclosed amount, AB InBev spokeswoman Marianne Amssoms said Thursday.

The acquisition, which took place at the end of 2011, only included rights to BMP's Budweiser trademarks, which BMP used under the B.B. DESET Budweiser Bier and B.B. PREMIUM Budweiser Bier...
