Purdue Wins Appeal In OxyContin Liability Suit

Law360 (July 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Months after admitting it misbranded its controversial painkiller OxyContin, Purdue Pharmaceuticals Inc. has persuaded an appeals court to toss out a widow's claim the drug killed her husband.

The Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit sided with the drug maker in a decision published Wednesday, upholding a district court's summary dismissal of the product liability case.
