DOJ Knocks Order Allotting BP Claim Cash For Attys Fees

Law360, New York (January 13, 2012, 8:28 PM EST) -- The U.S. Justice Department on Thursday balked at a Louisiana federal judge's order to put aside part of the claims paid to the victims of the BP PLC Gulf Coast oil disaster for the possible payment of attorneys' fees, saying the order could discourage claimants from settling out of court.
