DOE Moves To Adapt To Time Limits On Contract Funds

Law360, New York (January 13, 2012, 8:54 PM EST) -- With a move toward stricter time limits on appropriated funds, the U.S. Department of Energy laid out the implications for contract planning, award and administration in a Thursday letter to its contracting officers.

In contrast to most federal agencies, the Energy Department's appropriations have historically provided most of its funding in the form of “no-year” money, which may be obligated until expended, the letter said.
