Dynegy Examiner Demands Broad Subpoena Powers

Law360, New York (January 17, 2012, 5:11 PM EST) -- The newly appointed examiner in Dynegy Holdings LLC's prebankruptcy reorganization asked a New York bankruptcy court Monday for broad subpoena powers he says he needs to complete his probe under tight time constraints.

Examiner Susheel Kirpalani of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP asked for the ability to subpoena the debtor, its nonbankrupt parent company and affiliates, professionals who worked on the company's controversial $1.7 billion prebankruptcy reorganization, and even third parties without having to file separate requests with the court for each party he wants...
