Nissan Settles Faulty-Odometer MDL

Law360, New York (January 20, 2012, 2:57 PM EST) -- Nissan North America Inc. agreed on Thursday to settle multidistrict litigation accusing the automaker of breaching warranty contracts by designing and marketing allegedly faulty odometers that inflated the mileage driven in certain Nissan and Infiniti vehicles.

Judge Aleta A. Trauger approved the parties' request to dismiss with prejudice all claims in the six putative class actions consolidated in the MDL in Tennessee federal court over the odometers, which were alleged to overestimate driven miles by at least 2 percent.
