Enviros Lack Standing To Fight Tahoe City Plan: Court

Law360, New York (January 20, 2012, 6:16 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Thursday threw out an environmental challenge to South Lake Tahoe's new general plan, ruling that the League to Save Lake Tahoe had no standing to try to block the plan.

The league, a local environmental group, claimed that the city's general plan update, which would allow taller buildings and more high-density developments, violated environmental standards for the area. Those violations would harm the league's members via higher pollution and more traffic, the group claimed.
