Intel Acquires QLogic's InfiniBand Business For $125M

Law360, New York (January 23, 2012, 4:57 PM EST) -- Intel Corp., seeking to increase its high-performance computer offerings, has bought networking technology company QLogic Corp.'s InfiniBand business for $125 million in cash, the companies announced Monday.

The two companies reached an agreement for Intel to acquire the product lines and other assets of InfiniBand — a networking technology that provides a high-bandwidth link between servers or storage systems — in a deal expected to close this quarter, subject to regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions.
