Stroock, Ex-Partner Must Arbitrate Retirement Row: Judge

Law360, New York (January 23, 2012, 6:21 PM EST) -- A New York state judge ruled Friday that Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP and a former securities and insurance partner who is now with Locke Lord LLP must arbitrate their dispute over retirement benefits.

Judge Melvin Schweitzer said that it was up to an arbitrator to decide if Michael F. Perlis, a Stroock partner for 22 years, is eligible for Stroock retirement benefits even though he left the firm to join Locke Lord in Los Angeles in July.
