CR Bard, Others Face Onslaught Of Surgical Mesh Suits

Law360, New York (January 23, 2012, 9:17 PM EST) -- A slew of patients hit medical device makers from C.R. Bard Inc. to Covidien Inc. with several lawsuits Monday as part of multidistrict ligitation in West Virginia, accusing them of manufacturing mesh surgical products for stress urinary incontinence that caused severe damage and pain.

In addition to Bard and Covidien, Finance SA, Mareane SA, Floreane Medical Implants SA and Boston Scientific Corp. were named as defendants in the suits, which claim the companies withheld vital information from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and from physicians...
