Mosaid Settles Memory Chip Patent Suit Vs. Hynix

Law360, New York (February 17, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Canadian memory chip maker Mosaid Technologies has settled its patent infringement lawsuit against South Korean rival Hynix Semiconductor Inc., barely a month after it settled a similar lawsuit against Korea’s Samsung Electronics.

Under the settlement agreement, Hynix will take a license to Mosaid’s patent portfolio for a term of six years.

Fixed payments by Hynix will be spread over the six-year term of the license, but the companies refused to divulge financial details of the deal.
