US Airways Hires Latham To Explore Possible AMR Merger

Law360, New York (January 25, 2012, 9:52 PM EST) -- US Airways Group Inc. has tapped Latham & Watkins LLP and other advisers to help study merger possibilities related to American Airlines Inc.'s bankrupt parent company AMR Corp., the carrier confirmed Wednesday.

US Airways Chairman and CEO Doug Parker acknowledged his company's interest in AMR, which filed for Chapter 11 on Nov. 29, during an earnings call for fourth quarter and 2011 results.
