Canada Mulls Ban On Exports Of Patented Drugs

Law360, New York (February 19, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a move that could wipe out much of Canada’s billion-dollar internet pharmacy industry, the government is considering banning the export of patented prescription drugs to the U.S.

On Friday, Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh told reporters he has added the ban to a list of options being considered to ensure only Canadians have access to the country's system of regulated, lower-priced drugs.
