Judge Stays GPU Discovery To Review Dismissal Bids

Law360, New York (July 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The graphics chip makers accused of price-fixing graphics processing units (GPU) have secured a temporary stay of all discovery in the antitrust class action while the judge considers their motions for dismissal.

While Judge William Alsup refused to issue an automatic blanket stay of antitrust discovery on Tuesday, he granted a joint request by Nvidia Corp., Advanced Micro Devices Inc., and AMD’s unit ATI Technologies Inc. to postpone discovery and disclosures until he resolved their bids to toss the antitrust action.
