Judge Orders Hynix To Produce Joint Defense Agreement In Rambus Patent Suit

Law360, New York (February 21, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- A California federal judge has made a discovery ruling that orders South Korean memory chip maker Hynix Semiconductor Inc. to provide U.S. chip designer Rambus with details of a joint defense agreement by DRAM manufacturers targeted by Rambus in a series of patent lawsuits.

The ruling, handed down last week, ordered that Hynix provide Rambus with the details of a joint defense agreement purportedly entered into in August 2000 by several semiconductor companies, including three DRAM manufacturers, Hynix, Germany's Infineon Technologies AG and Micron Technology Inc,...
