Company, Union Sued For Forcing Workers To Join

Law360 (July 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A union and the security company that employed its members have been slapped with a lawsuit accusing them of colluding to threaten to fire employees if they did not join the labor organization or pay dues.

The Texas attorney general on Tuesday shot off the lawsuit against Deco-Akal Services LLC, which provides security officers to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service Processing Center in El Paso, Texas, and the International Union, Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America, asking for a permanent injunction on their allegedly...
