DOD Must Toughen Oversight Of Weapon Costs Reports: GAO

Law360, New York (February 2, 2012, 8:07 PM EST) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office slammed the U.S. Department of Defense on Thursday for failing to deliver to Congress an adequate accounting of its major weapons systems' estimated costs, calling on the agency to improve its oversight of cost reports.

Lawmakers rely on selected acquisition reports to oversee major defense acquisition programs.
