Resort Owner Sues San Diego County Over Lake Pollution

Law360, New York (February 9, 2012, 6:50 PM EST) -- A California resort owner hit San Diego County and two cities on Wednesday with a suit in California federal court, saying that over the past 50 years, municipal facilities in the area have released pollutants into the San Marcos Creek watershed.

Citizens Development Corp. Inc. alleges the county; the cities of Escondido and San Marcos; the public utility Vallecitos Water District; and private company Hollandia Dairy Inc. dumped and improperly disposed of hazardous waste that has leached into runoff and groundwater and polluted the lake.
