Hoffman Kelley Hits Unfaithful Ex-Atty With $2M Suit

Law360, New York (February 9, 2012, 8:45 PM EST) -- Insurance boutique Hoffman Kelley LLP has launched a $2 million suit in Texas state court against one of its former attorneys, alleging the nonequity partner breached his contract by leaving to start a new firm and trying to take Hoffman Kelley clients with him.

The firm alleges that former Hoffman Kelley attorney Christopher S. Norton defrauded it by negotiating a significant salary and bonuses and promising to drum up new business, while secretly planning to start a new partnership with another attorney.
