CUNA Retirees Ask High Court To Review Benefits Suit

Law360, New York (February 10, 2012, 8:32 PM EST) -- A proposed class of former CUNA Mutual Insurance Society employees on Tuesday asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a Seventh Circuit decision that said the company was within its rights to terminate payments on retirees’ health care costs.

The petition for writ of certiorari follows the proposed class’ failure in August to convince the Seventh Circuit that CUNA Mutual should not have made changes to its health care plan regarding credit toward unused paid sick leave, and that the company made the changes in order...
