Judge Denies Motion For Infineon Data In Rambus Patent Suit

Law360, New York (March 1, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge in Virginia has denied chip designer Rambus Inc.'s request for documents about German rival Infineon Technologies AG's role in a semiconductor industry group established to assess the strength of Rambus' patents.

U.S. District Judge Robert Payne with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia refused Rambus' motion for an order compelling Infineon to turn over the documents, ruling that Rambus had waited too late after learning of the group's existence to make the request.
