Deutsche Bank Sued In Louisiana Over Tax Shelters

Law360, New York (July 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Deutsche Bank has removed a lawsuit against it from state to federal court, where it now faces allegations that it fooled investors into participating in illegal tax fraud while charging exorbitant fees.

The lawsuit was originally filed in a Louisiana state court on July 18 by three residents of the state. Deutsche Bank removed it to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana last Wednesday, noting that “the only nondiverse defendant...was improperly joined and the amount in controversy exceeds $75,000."
