Belgium, France Lift Short Selling Bans

Law360, New York (February 13, 2012, 5:46 PM EST) -- Regulators in Belgium and France announced Monday that they have lifted bans on short selling in financial securities, though restrictions on the controversial practice remain in place in both countries.

Belgium and France were among four European countries that implemented measures in August banning short selling and short positions in efforts to battle market instability.
