Auto Parts Co. Retirees Win Class Cert. In Benefits Dispute

Law360, Washington (February 14, 2012, 3:06 PM EST) -- A Michigan federal judge on Monday granted class status to a group of retirees accusing aluminum automotive part manufacturer Hydro Automotive Structures Inc. of violating collective bargaining agreements by stripping the retirees of health benefits.

The class, which includes as many as 100 retirees, is suing Hydro Automotive Structures Inc. under the Labor-Management Relations Act and Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.
