AlloDerm Insurer Sues Over Coverage For Alleged Injuries

Law360, New York (February 14, 2012, 2:22 PM EST) -- Illinois Union Insurance Co. took to Texas federal court on Tuesday in its dispute with Kinetic Concepts Inc. and a subsidiary over coverage for lawsuits claiming that the use of tissue regeneration product AlloDerm in hernia repair surgery caused injuries.

The suit targets KCI, as well as its unit LifeCell Corp., which is facing lawsuits alleging that the company has inappropriately marketed AlloDerm Regenerative Tissue Matrix for use in hernia repair surgery since 2000, according to the complaint.
