Yahoo, Time Warner Sued Over Messaging Programs

Law360, New York (July 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A California-based licensing company has smacked Yahoo Inc. and AOL LLC parent Time Warner Inc. with an infringement lawsuit over a patent covering background advertising for computer messaging programs.

Creative Internet Advertising Corp. filed a suit Thursday in a Texas federal court against the Internet messaging giants, claiming violations of federal patent laws through their respective Yahoo Mail and AOL Instant Messenger programs.
