Chemical Co. Denied Quick Appeal In Asbestos Coverage Row

Law360, New York (February 15, 2012, 5:18 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Monday said Hill Brothers Chemical Co. cannot immediately appeal his ruling that First State Insurance Co. doesn’t have to pay any more money than it already has for hundreds of asbestos-related lawsuits against Hill Brothers because it would lead to appellate inefficiency.

The industrial and construction chemical company had two policies during the 1970s and 1980s with First State, both of which have been maxed out by legal costs stemming from the asbestos suits, U.S. District Judge Andrew J. Guilford said...
