DOT's LaHood Says $2.2B Needed For Mass Transit Projects

Law360, New York (February 15, 2012, 5:26 PM EST) -- U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood on Tuesday urged approval of about $2.2 billion in funding for 29 mass transit projects in 15 states that are part of President Barack Obama's proposed federal budget.

Those proposals include $243.7 million for seven new transit construction projects, $769.5 million for 10 projects that have been tapped for funding in the past but never received congressional approval and $1.2 billion to continue funding for projects already under construction.
