Jury Awards Promega $52M In Genetic Test Kit IP Suit

Law360, San Diego (February 15, 2012, 8:45 PM EST) -- A Wisconsin federal jury found Wednesday that Life Technologies Corp. should pay $52 million to Promega Corp. for infringing patents through the sale of genetic testing kits.

The jury also held that the infringement by Carlsbad, Calif.-based Life Technologies was willful. The court will consider whether to increase the award to up to three times the amount of the verdict, according to Promega.
