Kraft Retirees Win Class Cert. In Health Insurance Suit

Law360, New York (February 16, 2012, 6:08 PM EST) -- A Wisconsin federal judge on Wednesday certified a class of retired Kraft Foods Global Inc. workers who claim the company violated a collective bargaining agreement by reducing their health insurance benefits several years after they stopped working.

U.S. District Judge Barbara B. Crabb ruled that the retirees clearly had satisfied the requirements to bring the class action alleging Kraft violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act and Labor Management Relations Act by changing their health coverage.
