Telecoms Cut Roaming Charges To Meet Deadline

Law360, New York (July 31, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Telecom companies across Europe have slashed their roaming fees in an effort to meet the deadline for implementing the European Commission roaming tariff and escape fines and regulation.

Beginning Tuesday, the Commission will fine mobile phone companies that have not complied with a directive that orders the implementation of a new plan capping the cost of calls made when customers are abroad.
