Judge Won't Recertify DirectSat Technicians In OT Suit

Law360, New York (February 17, 2012, 5:55 PM EST) -- A group of satellite TV installers have failed in a revised bid for class status in a suit accusing DirectSat USA LLC of failing to pay overtime, with a judge ruling Thursday that the claims were too disparate for certification.

The installation technicians proposed a collective and class action alleging DirectSat, a DirecTV service provider at 24 locations across the country, forced them to complete off-the-clock tasks and failed to pay overtime in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and state laws in Wisconsin, Minnesota...
