Coast Guard's Witness Destroyed Evidence: Contractor

Law360, New York (February 21, 2012, 6:22 PM EST) -- A South Carolina contractor embroiled in a contract dispute with the U.S. Coast Guard over the construction of a repair shop on Monday asked a federal judge to sanction the government after thousands of pages of evidence were allegedly destroyed.

Following a trial in December, a Coast Guard contract inspector who had testified for the government in the case threw out boxes of documents that were supposed to have been turned over immediately after the trial, according to a motion for sanctions by K-Con Building Systems...
