Deepwater Rig Worker Settles Injury Claims Against BP, Others

Law360, New York (February 21, 2012, 7:51 PM EST) -- A Deepwater Horizon worker aboard the vessel during the April 2010 Macondo well explosion said Monday that she had settled her injury claims against companies targeted in ensuing multidistrict litigation, including BP PLC, Transocean Ltd. and Halliburton Energy Services Inc.

In a motion filed in the Deepwater Horizon multidistrict litigation in Louisiana federal court, Oleander Benton sought to drop her claims against all the companies in her suit with prejudice, saying they had reached an amicable settlement and that each party would bear its own costs....
