Biomet Distributor, Exec Hit With Competition Suit

Law360, New York (July 31, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Health care provider Biomet Inc. has filed a lawsuit against a former executive and its one-time distributor, Zimmer US Inc., alleging a scheme to steal trade secrets and squeeze its rivals out of the lucrative orthopedic device market.

On Monday the medical device maker said it had filed a 13-count lawsuit in an Indiana state court against the distributor and former company executive David Montgomery, who resigned in January to take a post at Zimmer.
