Plaintiffs Win Cert. In Butterball Don, Doff Class Action

Law360, New York (February 23, 2012, 3:45 PM EST) -- An Arkansas federal judge on Wednesday certified a class of workers at two Butterball LLC turkey processing plants to bring claims that the company failed to compensate them for time spent donning and doffing protective gear in violation of state law.

U.S. District Judge J. Leon Holmes granted certification to a class comprised of current or former hourly paid production employees who worked at Butterball's plants in Huntsville and Ozark, Ark., from October 2006 onward, allowing them to pursue claims under Arkansas' Minimum Wage Act....
