7th Circ. Overturns Trash Co. Boss' Bid-Rigging Conviction

Law360, Los Angeles (February 23, 2012, 8:01 PM EST) -- The Seventh Circuit on Thursday reversed a Chicago executive's conviction for fraud in bidding on a municipal trash bin maintenance contract, saying his conduct didn't appear to be wrongful and prosecutors built their case on improper hearsay testimony from a city investigator.
