Herman Miller Settles Lawsuit Over "Aeron" Chair Patents

Law360, New York (March 9, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Furniture maker Herman Miller has settled its patent lawsuit against Allseating Corporation over the design of Allseating's Fluid chair, which Herman Miller claimed knocked off its iconic Aeron chair.

The companies did not divulge the financial terms of the out-of-court settlement, but said they had entered into a licensing agreement.

The dispute relates to U.S. patents issued to Herman Miller out of its development of the Aeron Chair, Herman Miller said.
