Kindle Screen Savers Violate Tech Patent: Suit

Law360, New York (February 24, 2012, 4:28 PM EST) -- Network Presentations Solutions LLC sued Inc. in Washington federal court Thursday, claiming products including the Kindle and Kindle Touch infringe an NPS patent by showing sponsored screen savers when the devices have been idle for a preselected amount of time.

Newport Beach, Ca.-based NPS' one-count complaint sought treble damages as well as an injunction barring further infringement of its patent, and asked the court to require Amazon to “destroy or deliver to NPS” all allegedly infringing equipment produced by the defendant.
