Disciplinary Actions Against Enron Auditors Revived

Law360, New York (February 24, 2012, 7:32 PM EST) -- A Texas state appeals court on Friday revived disciplinary proceedings against three accountants over their role in Enron Corp. audits, finding that state regulators' allegedly illegal closed-door meetings didn't invalidate a vote to sanction the accountants.

The three accountants — Carl Bass, Thomas Bauer and Patricia Grutzmacher — were employees at Arthur Andersen LLP and worked on audits of Enron's 1997 and 1998 financial statements.

The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy revoked Bauer's and Bass' licenses in 2008 and gave Grutzmacher a probated three-year suspension,...
