DOD, IT Issues Hinder Gov’t Spending Reforms, House Hears

Law360, New York (March 1, 2012, 3:58 PM EST) -- The federal government has made progress toward improving its financial management, but still struggles with implementing large-scale information technology projects and the slow pace of financial reform in the U.S. Department of Defense, witnesses told Congress on Thursday.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office couldn’t properly evaluate the government’s consolidated financial statements for fiscal year 2011 because the statements were based on incomplete financial records, it said.
