Real Estate Investment Patent Too Abstract: Fed. Circ.

Law360, New York (February 27, 2012, 9:41 PM EST) -- The Federal Circuit ruled Monday that a patent held by American Master Lease LLC for a method of creating an investment tool out of real property is an unpatentable abstract idea, in the court's latest ruling on business method patents in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's Bilski decision.
