Bank Fraudster's Narcissism Doesn't Invalidate Trial: 2nd Circ.

Law360, New York (February 27, 2012, 2:33 PM EST) -- The owner of a New York furniture company sentenced to five years in prison for a $2.1 million bank fraud was competent to stand trial despite a personality disorder, the Second Circuit ruled Monday.

A three-judge panel denied Bill Suri’s appeal of his sentencing on claims he conned four banks — Citibank NA, Wachovia NA, North Fork Bancorp and HSBC — into providing his company, Woodkraft International Inc., with $2.1 million in commercial loans.
